3.1 Candidates will be able to apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation strategies.
I created a Kahoot to assess the students in my graduate class on their understanding of tech terms. Kahoot is a game-based tech tool that provides teachers with immediate feedback on student understanding.
3.2 Candidates will be able to use technology to collect assessment data, analyze it, and improve student learning.
I used Flubaroo to assess students' knowledge of math skills, such as finding the greatest common factor or least common multiple. It gave me immediate feedback, including students’ answers, and the percentage of questions answered correctly. This allowed me to evaluate student learning and pull out the students with the least understanding to remediate their understanding of the material.
3.3 Candidates will be able to use technology to communicate assessment data with others.
In this assignment, we took data from multiple classes based on a Grade 6 math unit test. We compared each of our classes as well as looked at other teachers data who gave the same assessment. We created graphs to interpret our data and evaluate what needs to be done next.
